Helping Toronto-area families navigate the complexity of the independent school admissions process and find the perfect fit for their children
Welcome! I’m Sarah and I wanted to share a bit about myself and why I am a strong partner to help you plan your independent school search.
For the last ten years, I have worked with many families helping to advise them on “best fit” independent schools and assisting them with their independent school application process.
The connection to the independent school system runs deep for me.
I went to an independent school, graduating from Branksome Hall.
I am an Ontario Certified Teacher and have worked at independent schools since 2007. I taught a wide range of grades and specialty classes, in addition to coaching and mentoring for colleagues and students. I have additional qualifications in Special Education and Reading, and I am deeply familiar with the Ontario curriculum as well as the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) where I am trained in the IB Primary Years Program.
I have also worked on the admissions team at an independent school, learning the process “behind the scenes” and what independent schools look for in their prospective students. In this role, I worked closely with families fielding many questions at Open Houses and during tours, administered assessments, made offers of admission, and assisted families with the heartbreak of a decline.
Finally, I am a parent of two children who attend independent schools so I have felt the pressure and stress that comes with the application process!
I live in Toronto with my husband, two children and our flat-coated retriever, Harvey. In my spare time, I love to take in the Lake Huron sunsets at our cottage, wrestle weeds in my garden, and play fiery card games of “Hearts” with my family.
